1) The problem is Water and agricultural companies are huge consumers.
2) Article title – AeroFarms: Work starts to build world’s largest vertical urban farm in Newark

Name of technology/brand – Aerofarms Vertical urban farms
What the technology does – AeroFarms builds, owns, and operates farms that grow locally flavorful, safe, healthy food in a sustainable and socially responsible way. Aerofarms innovative vertical farming technology system uses 95% less water than growing in a field.
How the technology addresses the problem – The Aerofarms technology uses aeroponics and LEDs, utilizing a totally controlled growing environment without sun or soil and minimizing harmful transportation miles.
3) Stakeholders that will need to use the technology include Aerofarms harvesters, assemblers, and crop physiologists.
4) Three steps to deploying this technology include:
Step 1 – Determine a location where a vertical farm would make sense to build (densely populated urban areas).
Step 2 – Discuss community benefits and partnerships with the mayor of the city of the desired location.
Step 3 – Construct the vertical farm.

As urban population expands, the reduced time of growing combined with the reduced area of agriculture required to grow food will place less strain on the environment and on importing food from other areas.

The adaptability of this technology and retrofitting of older infrastructure so that building can again be profitable in areas of current stagnation or decline is a great example of lifecycle awareness and deployment. I would be curious to know the GHG emissions from the aerofarms as they are running lamps to imitate nature and promote photosynthesis.
